Frapp Rowdy Head ST Desription
FRAPP Rowdy Head ST is a large, high-profile mouse-style lure designed primarily for pike fishing. The Synthetic Type (ST) continues the concept of the original Rowdy Head, replacing natural bucktail with modern synthetic fibers.
The entire design is focused on making the lure highly visible to both predators and real-time sonar systems.
The massive head, voluminous synthetic fiber skirt, and FRAPP Double Croak 6.5″ twin-tail trailer create a distinctive silhouette and powerful vibrations during the retrieve.
Enlarged noise slots in the head allow water to flow through, generating additional turbulence and unusual hydrodynamic signals.
The synthetic skirt maintains the characteristic volume and action of the original Rowdy Head while offering a wider variety of colors and a more affordable price.
The trailer is attached with a secure screw-lock system. The lure also features a stinger rig and two premium-quality treble hooks.
FRAPP Rowdy Head ST: How to Use
Versatility is one of the key advantages of the FRAPP Rowdy Head ST.
The lure can be used with additional weight to adjust its sinking speed, running depth, and retrieve rhythm.
The standard FRAPP Double Croak 6.5″ trailer can also be replaced with another soft plastic lure of suitable size and shape.
During the retrieve, water passes through the enlarged noise slots, creating additional turbulence. This helps predators detect the lure through their lateral line, particularly during jerking retrieves and in low-visibility conditions.
Two Main Types of Rowdy Head ST Animation
Try alternating or combining both retrieve methods for maximum effectiveness:
A steady retrieve through the water column or close to the bottom.
A jerking retrieve — alternating rod jerks and line retrieval. This technique fully reveals the lure’s potential and can trigger strikes even from inactive predators.

A dedicated eyelet on the underside of the Rowdy Head ST allows anglers to quickly and easily add extra weight, adjusting the lure to different fishing conditions.
Both quick-change weights and standard teardrop-shaped sinkers with swivels can be used, with the latter attached via a split ring.
Positioning the eyelet underneath the head reduces the risk of the additional weight tangling with the leader while keeping the front working surface of the lure unobstructed.
The Rowdy Head ST comes equipped with a FRAPP Double Croak 6.5″ twin-tail soft plastic trailer.
Its two active tails generate strong vibrations during the retrieve, adding movement and attraction to the lure. The trailer is secured with a reliable screw-lock attachment and can be replaced with another suitable soft plastic bait.
Unlike the original Rowdy Head, which uses natural bucktail, the ST version features a voluminous synthetic fiber skirt.
The synthetic material preserves the characteristic profile and action of the lure while allowing for a wider variety of color patterns and a more affordable price.
