Placoid is a flexible slug of complex “plate” construction with a solid front part. It holds securely both on a jig head and on a corkscrew fix of various designs when equipped with stingers.
Has its own smooth action at steady retrieve. Two sizes: 7“ / 17 cm – weight 20 g and 8” / 20 cm – weight 30 g.
The main idea: a balanced combination of visibility, noise effect, impressive flexibility, maximum softness – out of reach for models of traditional forms. And demanded above all in pelagic fishing for zander and pike.
Noise effect. The “plate” design creates water movements that are picked up by the fish’s lateral line from afar. They are noticeable, but at the same time – the most natural and the predator is not scared.
Flexibility. Placoid not only clearly responds to any, even the most delicate manipulation of the rod. But it is also able to act in response to minimal water movements or monotonous steady retrieve. The action has a natural character.
Softness and elasticity. Slug is “folded” at the bite, it is minimal stuck teeth of predators, especially pike. As a result – Placoid has a good realization of bites for a lure of such serious dimensions.
Movable realistic fins and asymmetrical V-shaped tail, whose upper part is longer than the lower also add “life” to the lure. At steady retrieve, the tail gently wobbles from side to side. The tail is oriented vertically. This orientation proved to be more effective during the tests of this lure
The voluminous, “plate-like” design makes Placoid a lure highly visible in live sonar (real-time sonar). The balance and shape allow for a wide range of animation techniques.
